Dr. Bhawna Gulati Muradia

CURRENT POSITION

Dr. Bhawna Gulati Muradia is a Professor at the Centre for Healthcare Management, Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, where she joined in January 2014. She is a medical doctor with a Gold Medal in MBA (Hospital and Health Management), a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics, Black Belt in Six Sigma, and is a Ph.D. Scholar.

She has been Programme Director for numerous Management Development Programmes on Healthcare Quality, management concepts for doctors and healthcare administrators, and public health managerial officials across various states. She also contributes to research projects and national-level government assignments.

She heads the Academic Credit Framework and IQAC activities, mentors students, and has guided 240–250 student live projects while facilitating internships in leading hospitals and organising interactions with CEOs and top management of hospitals and government bodies.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Dr. Bhawna Gulati Muradia is a qualified medical doctor who further strengthened her expertise through an MBA in Hospital and Health Management, in which she was awarded a Gold Medal. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics and is currently a Ph.D. Scholar. She is a certified Black Belt in Six Sigma. She has pursued the Harvard Business Management Mentor Programme β€” an opportunity earned following the presentation of her research findings at an international forum in the United States. She brings over 18 years of work experience in the healthcare sector, with niche expertise in quality standards, certification, accreditation, capacity building, and research.

PAST EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining ASCI, Dr. Bhawna served as Deputy Director at NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers), where she successfully developed, launched, and managed national accreditation programmes for AYUSH Hospitals, Wellness Centres, Dental Colleges & Clinics, AYUSH Colleges, and AYUSH Clinics. She also developed NABH International, an international sister body of NABH, and played a pivotal role in MoUs with the Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of Tourism, and CGHS.

She also served with the prestigious multinational company Wolters Kluwer, and has been a Member of the FICCI National Wellness Committee, Member of the National Wellness Committee under the Ministry of Tourism, Jury Member of National Tourism Awards, and Quality Advisor and External Examiner to Jamia Hamdard University, Delhi.

CURRENT INTERESTS

Her current areas of interest are Quality and Systems, Continual Quality Improvement, Accreditation, Patient Safety, Skill Development, Hospital Operations, and Human Resource Development.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS

Dr. Bhawna is an Empanelled National Assessor for National Health Mission (Government of India), Healthcare Sector Skill Council, NABH-AYUSH, IRCA-approved ISO 9001:2008 standards, and CII. She is a Technical Editor for the ASCI Journal of Management – Hospital & Health Special Issue (peer-reviewed ISSN journal), and a Member of the Research and Academic Committee of the Consortium of Accredited Hospitals (CAHO) for CAHOCON 2018.
