DR. P. M. PRIYA DARSHINI

CURRENT POSITION

Dr. P. M. Priya Darshini is an Assistant Professor at the Dr. Kakarla Subba Rao Centre for Healthcare Management, Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad.

She teaches Introduction to Hospital Management, Hospital Operations Management, Introduction to Marketing Essentials, and Ethics and Legislation in Healthcare in the PGDM (Hospital Management) programme, and contributes to Management Development Programmes (MDPs) across the healthcare domain.

At ASCI, she is actively involved in key projects and serves as Guest Faculty for reputed institutions such as the Indian Railways Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM) and Dr. MCRHRD Institute of Telangana. She has also co-directed three batches of a customised Online Leadership Development Program for Mid-level Managers of Care Group of Hospitals, India.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Dr. Priya Darshini has a strong interdisciplinary academic background spanning dental surgery, hospital administration, and business management. She completed her BDS from Mamata Dental College, Khammam, NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh — standing first in the first year and securing a Gold Medal in Physiology and Biochemistry. She holds an MHA from the Centre for Health Management Studies and Research, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune, and an MBA from Dr. D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune.

She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Medico Legal Systems from Symbiosis International University, Pune, a Certified Internal Auditor – NABH certificate (AHPI, Bangalore), Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma (TÜV SÜD South Asia), and certifications in Direct Trainer Skills (DTS) and Design of Training (DOT) from Dr. MCRHRD Institute of Telangana. She is a Life Member of the Academy of Hospital Administration.

PAST EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining ASCI, Dr. Priya Darshini worked as Assistant Professor at the Centre for Health Management Studies and Research, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, where she taught various courses for hospital management students and was involved in several administrative activities. She has more than 10 years of experience in teaching and guiding students across different areas of hospital management.

She has presented her work at national conferences on hospital administration and brings with her clinical experience as a practicing dentist prior to transitioning into healthcare management education.

CURRENT INTERESTS

Her current interest areas are Hospital Operations and Quality, with a focus on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of processes in hospital management. She is particularly engaged in quality systems, hospital governance, and health systems strengthening through both teaching and applied project work.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS

Dr. Priya Darshini is a Life Member of the Academy of Hospital Administration. She is a Certified Internal Auditor for NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) and a Certified Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma by TÜV SÜD South Asia Pvt. Ltd. She also holds certification on Universal Human Values in Technical Education by AICTE.
